Information Package

Check In

A team representative must check in online before the event by clicking HERE.  Players are not required to check in. You do not need to check in at the park and can go straight to your game. 

All teams must have previously emailed and/or updated online:

  • Travel permit from Provincial or State Association (for non-BC based teams)

  • Roster for all U13+ teams. U12 and younger are not required to produce rosters but a reminder that over age players are not permitted unless permission has been granted. ID cards are not required for any players.

 

Rosters should include at a minimum: last name, first name, date of birth and jersey number

Event Staff and Volunteers

There will be a number of staff and volunteers around the parks to assist you. Please familiarize yourself with the facility maps below.

 

The “grey”circles marked “FM” are the field marshal tents. There should always be someone located here to assist. Additionally our staff will have red jackets with “EVENT STAFF” on the back. They will be mixed around the park to ensure that you and your team have a safe, fun and organized experience.

 

If you have any questions or need to look in the lost in found, please come to the Head Quarters at any of the fields. We are here to help you!

Parking

Parking at all parks will be extremely busy. It is recommended that all teams plan ahead and have enough time to park and make it to the park.

First Aid

Morgan Crossing Sports Medicine Clinic is the official supplier of medical services for the competition.

 

First aid will be available at South Surrey Athletic Park, Cloverdale Athletic Park and Newton Athletic Park. 

Schedule and Results

  • Results will be posted online only, and game schedules can be found HERE

  • U9 – U12. No results (scores or standings) kept

  • U13+ Scores and standings will be kept

  • The home team must report the score one of two ways:

    • Home team phones in the scores at 1-904-758-0875. When prompted, you can enter the event ID# (70303), pin (1234), game number, home score, away score, and then hang up.

    • The home team can also do it through your mobile phone on the mobile website. We recommend this option as it is an easier and quicker way to do so. 

 

Click HERE on your smart phone and it will bring up the mobile website. Click on "Event Scoring" then enter the event ID# (70303) and pin (1234). Once you enter those two numbers, you will enter the game number found on the schedules website. Then enter the home and away scores and hit save. 

Matches

  • Played in accordance with FIFA laws

  • Retreat Line:

    • U9 will have a 1/2 retreat line. Players must withdraw and wait until the first touch of the player receiving the pass from the GK. There are no offsides in the U9 age group.

    • U10-U12 will have a 1/3 retreat line. Players must withdraw and wait until the first touch of the player receiving the pass from the GK. This will also be used as the offside line.

    • U13 will NOT have a retreat line enforced by the referee but those divisions who normally play with a retreat line should do so, even though the referee will not enforce it

  • All teams will play 4 games

  • Benches will be provided on full sized fields only. Shelters may or may not be available/required. Teams can bring their own if they choose. 

Officials

  • U9 – U12 will have a referee

  • U13+ best effort will be made to have 3 officials based on availability 

Match Balls (provided by the home team)

  • U9 – U12 will use size 4

  • U13+ will use size 5

Game Lengths

  • U9 – U12 will play 2 X 25 minutes (50 minute game)

  • U13 – U14 will play 2 X 30 minutes (60 minute game)

  • U15+ will play 2 X 35 minutes (70 minute game)

  • Split age groups will play based on the oldest age group

  • All games will have a 5 minute half time

  • All games must start exactly on time to maintain the tournament schedule. Failure to start the game on time may require the game length to be reduced accordingly

  • All U9 – U12 games can end in a tie (no overtime played)

  • All U13+ group games can end in a tie

  • Only U13+ Championship games cannot end in a tie. After regulation time, if the score is tied, the game will immediately go to penalty kicks (5 shooters)

Game Format

  • U9 – U10 = 7 v 7 (6 + GK)

  • U11 – U12 = 8 v 8 (7 + GK)

  • U13+ = 11 v 11 (10 + GK)

    • The home team is required to change their jerseys in the event of a colour conflict

    • Substitutions are unlimited for all age groups at the referee’s discretion

    • Limited warm up time on the field before each game. Teams need to use the casual field space at the park. Note – leave ample time to get to your game field so that kick-off can be on time

Point/Scoring System U13+

  • 3 points for a win

  • 1 point for a tie

  • 0 points for a loss

  • 1 point per goal scored (maximum of 3 per game)

  • 2 points for a shutout

  • Maximum number of attainable points per game is 8

Tie Breaking Formula

  • Head to Head

  • Goal difference

  • Most wins

  • Goals for

  • Goals against

  • Lottery

  • The tournament director will have the final say on all tie-breaking scenarios.

Protests

All protests will only be entertained if received, in writing, within one hour after the completion of the game in question. A $250.00 fee, payable in cash, must accompany all protests. Protests and fees can be delivered to the tournament headquarters. The protest fee will be fully refunded if the protest in question is deemed valid.

Discipline

Any player receiving a red card in a match is subject to discipline as follows:

  • An automatic suspension of his/her next game

  • Potential further review/suspension by the discipline committee

 

3 accumulated yellow cards in the first 3 matches will result in a suspension for the final match

 

Zero tolerance for abuse towards officials (potential suspension for entire event or team expulsion from the tournament)

Team Conduct

Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the Laws of the Game and generally accepted good sportsmanship. Displays of temper or dissent are cause for ejection from the game and surrounding field area. Repeated violations may result in the suspension/expulsion of the team in question.

It is the responsibility of the Club/Team staff to control the conduct of its parents and other spectators. Failure to do so may result in a warning to the coach or person acting on the coach’s behalf.

If unacceptable behaviour persists, the referee may terminate the match.

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park

Failure to Show & Forfeits

A team shall be allowed a five (5) minute grace period after the scheduled kick-off time before the match is awarded to their opponent.

 

Additional rules:

  • In no case shall a team, which forfeits a game, be declared a group winner

  • If an apparent group winner forfeits a game, the team with the next best record shall be determined the group winner

  • If a team is the cause for the termination of a game, that team will be considered to have forfeited the game. This decision may not be protested

  • Playing a suspended player is grounds for a forfeit

  • A forfeit shall be recorded as a 1-0 victory for the opponent. 5 points would be awarded

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the tournament director will have the authority to:

  • Relocate or reschedule any game(s);

  • Change the duration of any game(s);

  • Cancel any game(s);

 

A game is considered complete if less than 25% of the time remains.

 

No refunds will be provided and Coastal FC is not responsible for team’s out of pocket expenses in the event that the tournament is cancelled due to weather.

 

Additional Information

All teams are scheduled for four (4) games; however, at the discretion of the tournament director, the number of games may be reduced due to exceptional circumstances. The tournament is not liable for any expenses and no refunds will be provided.

The tournament committee or their official representative will be responsible for any rule interpretation. Their decision will be final.

 

The tournament committee, event operations staff, and Coastal FC are not liable for any injuries sustained by any participant in the tournament, on or off the field.
